Individual Therapy
At Calm Speak Space, we use a trauma informed client centred approach which means that we see you as a whole person, with a history and experiences that have brought you to where you are now - we prefer to ask “what happened to you”, not “what’s wrong with you”. We will sit with you collaborate with you, so sessions are focused on exploring your goals and improving your overall wellbeing in a holistic manner.

Most people in the span of their life will experience poor mental health at some point in time. This can present with individuals in a variety of ways, including Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Trauma, Self Harm, Suicidal Thoughts, Panic Attacks, Grief and Loss, Career or Life Challenges, Loneliness, Relationship Issues, Identity Challenges, etc.

During your session you will be able to meet with a clinician via PowerDiary Telehealth Web Platform for a 50 minute session. In the session the clinician will use focused psychological strategies, these are specific mental healthcare treatments that are evidenced-based. Examples include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, etc. These strategies will be used to help to assess what is happening for you, how it is impacting your day-to-day life and develop a plan to help you achieve your specific goals.

Our practise is a client-centered and holistic, meaning that we understand you are the expert in your life and we are here to help guide but not lead. We are rooted in compassion, unconditional positive regard and respect for persons at all times. We also understand that there may be outside factors which are impacting your mental health (ie housing, financial stress, etc). If relevant and part of the clients goals, we will also assist with problem solving these challenges if this is what you would like.
